Why I Loved Cruising on MSC Seascape from Galveston, Texas

Sometimes you take a vacation…and sometimes you come home already planning the next one.

That pretty much sums up my experience aboard the MSC Seascape.

I recently had the opportunity to sail aboard MSC Seascape from Galveston, Texas, and I have to say—I absolutely loved my time on this ship. In fact, I enjoyed it enough that I already have another cruise planned for a few months from now!

If you're considering a cruise from Galveston, especially if you're looking for something a little different from the traditional cruise experience, MSC Seascape is definitely a ship worth getting to know.

🚢 MSC Seascape: A New Cruise Option from Galveston

MSC Seascape is part of the MSC Cruises fleet and now calls Galveston home. MSC began sailing from Galveston in late 2025, making the ship a relatively new addition to the Texas cruise scene. It sails from the Port of Galveston's new Cruise Terminal 16 at Pier 16.

And let me tell you—having another cruise option right here in Texas is something I'm pretty excited about.

For those of us who can drive to Galveston instead of flying to a cruise port, there's something really convenient about starting your vacation without having to deal with an airport first.

MSC currently offers 7-night Western Caribbean itineraries from Galveston, including stops such as Costa Maya, Cozumel and Roatan, Honduras.

And that's a pretty fantastic combination if you ask me!

🌴 The Ship Was Part of the Vacation

One of the things I enjoyed most about MSC Seascape was that the ship itself didn't feel like simply a way to get from one destination to another.

There was plenty to do onboard.

MSC Seascape has 15 dining venues, 19 bars, multiple pools, entertainment, kids and teen areas, the MSC Aurea Spa and a whole lot of outdoor space. It also has Robotron, an attraction MSC describes as the only robocoaster at sea.

But you don't have to be looking for nonstop excitement to enjoy this ship.

There are plenty of places where you can simply sit back, enjoy the ocean views, have a drink, grab something to eat and let yourself slow down.

And honestly?

That's one of my favorite things about cruising.

☀️ There Is Something Really Special About Being at Sea

There's just something about waking up, walking outside and seeing nothing but ocean.

No emails.

No laundry.

No work.

No traffic.

Just blue water and somewhere new waiting at the end of the day.

One of the things I loved about my MSC Seascape experience was being able to enjoy the ship as much as the destinations.

Cruising gives you the opportunity to unpack once and wake up somewhere different each day. You get the excitement of visiting new places without constantly packing and unpacking your suitcase.

For me, that's a pretty great way to travel.

🍽️ Food, Drinks & Plenty of Choices

One thing you'll quickly discover on a cruise is that you are rarely going to wonder, "What are we going to eat?"

MSC Seascape offers a variety of dining options and international cuisine, with three main restaurants among the ship's dining choices.

And that's part of the fun.

Breakfast with an ocean view.

A casual lunch by the pool.

An afternoon drink.

Dinner followed by entertainment.

Maybe a late-night snack because, well…you're on vacation!

There is something very satisfying about having your day revolve around what sounds fun instead of what absolutely has to get done.

🌊 And Then There Are the Ports

Of course, one of the biggest reasons we cruise is to explore.

MSC's Galveston itineraries make it possible to visit destinations in the Western Caribbean without having to travel halfway across the country just to board your ship.

Depending on your itinerary, you can visit places such as:

Cozumel, Mexico
Beautiful water, shopping, beaches, snorkeling, excursions and plenty of opportunities to explore.

Costa Maya, Mexico
A great jumping-off point for exploring the Mexican Caribbean and Mayan culture.

Roatan, Honduras
One of my favorite kinds of cruise destinations—beautiful Caribbean scenery, gorgeous water and lots of options for getting out and exploring.

And that's one of the things I love about cruising: you can make your vacation as relaxing or adventurous as you want.

💙 Would I Cruise MSC Seascape Again?

Well…

I already am.

I think that probably tells you everything you need to know about how much I enjoyed my experience.

There are plenty of cruise lines and ships out there, and every traveler is different. That's one of the reasons I believe choosing the right cruise isn't simply about finding the cheapest fare.

It's about finding the right ship, itinerary, cabin, onboard experience and vacation style for YOU.
